In case you have missed it out, WTFL stands for World Tourism Forum Lucerne and is a 2 days conference that gathers hundreds of specialists from hospitality & tourism industry.
So the IMI students thought “Why should we pay 1900CHF to attend the conference when we could actually attend the event through volunteering?”
20 IMI volunteers have had an important contribution to the smooth operation of the event, some of the tasks being: Assistant to the speakers, stage set up, Wifi and event App assistance, Welcome desk clerk and many more.
It is true that not all students have been able to attend the speeches, but during networking breaks we did have the chance to connect with Top CEO’s and opinion makers such as:
– Reto Wittwer (Ex CEO Kempinski Hotels)
– Christopher Cederskog (Regional Manager Europe, Airbnb)
– Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
This year’s slogan has been “Talents, innovation, sustainable development: walk the talk!” and the main topics that have been discussed were talent management, millennial generation and influence of technology, sustainable tourism.
