‘I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples’ – Mother Teresa

Charity Week

“Charity Week”

On 14th March 2016, an exciting event was launched in our university; it was held throughout the week on alternate days filled with various activities. Our students participated actively in this event. The SRC members thought out of the box by organizing a Charity event week accompanied with activities which raise awareness of the students to encourage them to do good deeds around the campus, in return they get to enjoy some privileges.

“It was hell to have 8 stripes pilled off at the same time!”

The first day of the Charity week was kick started with the excitement of ‘Waxing Day’, for those who have contributed 2CHF they are entitled to a strip of waxing strip and they can help one of them to wax their hair off! There were roughly 6 students who got their leg hair waxed.

“It was hell!” David lamented. “I had 8 waxing strips on my leg and they were peeled off at the same time!” Well David you have done a great sacrifice for charity! Now David, Keat, Tanvir, Calvin, Innocentious, Theo and Nick’s leg looked smooth and clean after waxing day.

“Don’t I look good?”

The next event that was the ‘Make up for the opposite gender day’. Guess what? Girls Power! Great job girls and guys who have participated in this event. They managed to be a big contributor compared to the males. As mentioned, girls had the opportunity to make up for the guys. Natashas’, Hannah and Nguyen helped Nick, Jia Ming, Klaus and Tanvir to get their beautiful faces done.

“Last activity”

So far, the students are having a great time with this event and it was a great bonding session. On Friday, there was the traditional ‘Dress Down Day’, in conjunction with the event there was a first time held Make Up Coffee Salon which was located in Swiss Room. With a contribution of 5CHF they had a choice of getting their nails or hair done inclusive of a cup of coffee. Donations were available until Sunday, and the person in charge posted the money to the respective organizations.

For those who have participated in this charity event, you have done a great job give yourself an applause. Keep that up by doing good deeds, it can also be done by just a simple action.
